ho letto gli articoli e mi fanno amarezza tutti gli aggettivi di disprezzo che i critici hanno espresso contro RATKOS e la personalità di Roland in generale....si vede che alla gente piacciono i cantantetti da 4 e 1 soldo che non hanno inventiva tematica quantomeno musicale....evidentemente i critici sono troppo bassi culturalmente per arrivare alla musica aristocratica e nobile dei TFF....oh!!!!!!!!!!!

I critici sono critici se no che ci starebbero a fare?

------------------------- PUBBLICATO ------------------------------ Il chitarrista Roland Orzabal ufficializza la separazione dal bassista Curt Smith: i due inglesi continueranno la carriera da "single" TITOLO: Tears for Fears, un divorzio pop nato a Treviso - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MILANO . C' e' voluto qualche anno di striscianti litigi nella vita quotidiana, di imbarazzanti e imbarazzati silenzi offerti ai fan nei concerti prima che si decidessero a divorziare. Ma adesso e' fatta: gli inglesi Tears for Fears non sono piu' un duo. Il bassista Curt Smith ha detto basta e prepara il primo disco da solista, mentre il chitarrista Roland Orzabal mantiene la postazione e lavora al nuovo album da sfornare solo soletto con il marchio della disciolta "ditta pop". Scuote i riccioli ribelli e, dietro un sorriso da coniglio nordico, Roland cerca di nascondere l' acrimonia per l' ex compagno di scuola e compaesano di Bath, suo partner artistico per un decennio e tre album. Assicura: "Non sono preoccupato per questa separazione. Curt era l' uomo.immagine e curava solo il "business" e la promozione, estraniandosi dal vero lavoro discografico. Invece io, oltre a salire in scena per i concerti e a frequentare i set per i videoclip, mi dedicavo all' aspetto creativo.musicale. Dunque, cosa cambia per me? Non molto. Continuero' a fare cio' che ho sempre fatto, anche se dovro' affrontare in prima persona le interviste, il che mi costa un po' di fatica: non mi sento a mio agio nel ruolo di "primadonna". Roland, graffiando con freddezza tutta britannica, aggiunge: "Sono contento che sia finita la finzione che mi costringeva ad apparire felice e unito a Curt e a spartirmi con lui il merito delle canzoni a cui avevo lavorato soltanto io...". Per suddividersi i "beni di coppia", Roland Orzabal e Curt Smith, che insieme si sono fatti adorare dapprima dai fan del tecnopop e poi da quelli che amano il pop aromatizzato soul, si sono risparmiati urla e strepiti. Tutto e' filato liscio. "In comune avevamo un' automobile e il marchio Tears for Fears. Curt ha scelto la macchina, a me e' rimasto il nome". Quale sia stata la goccia che ha fatto traboccare il vaso della sopportazione reciproca non e' dato di sapere, ma Roland rivela quando e dove la situazione e' precipitata: "Tutte le insofferenze sotterranee, che hanno caratterizzato il nostro lungo "matrimonio" piu' delle liti, sono esplose nell' ultimo tour italiano. A Treviso, tre anni fa". Messe da parte le recriminazioni "coniugali" Roland, che e' diventato papa' da qualche mese e si definisce un provetto cambiatore di pannolini, butta uno sguardo sul suo futuro artistico da single: "Sono gia' a meta' del lavoro per realizzare il nuovo Lp. Vorrei intitolarlo "Kings of pain". Musicalmente sara' a cavallo tra l' ispirazione di "Songs from big chair" del 1985 e quella di "Seeds of love" del 1989. Mamma mia, Roland va proprio giù pesante, anche se per me non è una novità, lessi anch io su vari articoli la voglia di separazione da Curt dovuta, a suo dire, dall' assenza dallo studio del collega

già, mi viene da pensare "begli amici!" che tristezza.....

Non sono d'accordo sulla critica fatta ad ELAHE, l'ultimo album.

Caspita che bell articolo Olga! Al di la delle fucilate sparate contro ELAHE, è il più ricco contributo scritto a livello di recensione che abbia mai letto sui lavori dei TFF. Brava capo!

Station Casinos: What’s your personal favorite song (from your own catalog)?

Curt Smith: I’ve always felt that “Sowing The Seeds Of Love” is the most complete song we’ve done as far as writing AND production working so well together.

SCLV: What city/country is on your bucket list (not yet played or visited)?

CS: Anywhere in Africa. We’ve been through Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Australia/New Zealand… but never Africa. I’d like to go sometime.

SCLV: Name of your first band? (high school group, etc.)

CS: Most people think our first band was Graduate… but keep in mind that Roland and I met as young teens, and we actually had a band before that. It was called Duckz.

SCLV: What career path would you be on if not a gigging musician?

CS: I was studying to be a teacher, and in fact that still interests me tremendously. For the past two years I’ve guest lectured at the USC Annenberg School For Communication about how technology and social media are impacting the music business (or my bit of it, anyway). It’s energizing to be on a university campus and rewarding to be able to interact with the students.

SCLV: Are you an animal lover or? Any four-legged passengers on the tour bus? At home?

CS: We have two Vizslas, both females. Bella is three and a half and Ivy is just over a year old. While I’d love to have them along on tour, it wouldn’t be ideal for them as we move around so much and I’m quite busy during those very hectic weeks. Besides, I’m sure my kids wouldn’t be too happy about me taking “their” dogs away for a month or more.

SCLV: What is your favorite thing about Las Vegas?

CS: Although I have some close friends there, I don’t actually get to Las Vegas often. When I’m there for shows the schedule precludes me getting out much and exploring. Having said that, my manager is a big fan of the food and wine scene, so I’m hoping to capitalize on her knowledge on an upcoming trip. I certainly like that it’s close to Los Angeles and I can get home quickly after the gig.

SCLV: Do you gamble? What is your favorite casino game?

CS: I confess that I do not gamble.

SCLV: What can fans expect from your show?

CS: They can expect a set covering material from all four of our studio albums. Roland and I have had solo projects apart from Tears For Fears and we usually include a song or two from those, as well. So if they like our music, they’ll enjoy the show. We also have the amazing Carina Round on tour with us this year. She’ll be singing backup with us and for some of the gigs (although not Las Vegas, unfortunately) she’ll do an opening set.

SCLV: What is your favorite city/country to visit/perform?

CS: In 2010 we played Manila for the first time in something like 25 years. The audience’s response was extraordinary and quite moving. Try to imagine Araneta Coliseum – where the historic “Thrilla in Manila” bout was held – filled with thousands of people singing along to the entire show at the top of their lungs. There are videos on YouTube. It’s a good thing we use in-ear monitors or we literally wouldn’t have been able to hear what we were playing. It was quite an experience.

SCLV: What question are you totally sick of answering?

CS: “Why aren’t you playing a show in [insert name of city or country here]. You haven’t played here in forever and you have so many fans here. Why are you ignoring us?”
